PionerasDev is a non-profit organization that seeks to empower women who do not have access to quality education through skills-based volunteering, and sharing open knowledge about programming, design, and software technologies, among others.
Community members
We connect with opportunities in the industry, and support through mentoring to improve skills and reduce the gender gap in technology careers, focused on meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Global Compact, specifically in: quality education, gender equity, decent work and economic growth.
Marian Villa
Our principal director.
Marian is a Designer, Educator, & Creator { }
She holds a double major degree, one as a Graphic Designer and other as a Social Communicator & Journalist. She graduated with a Master’s in Marketing. She teaches about digital publications and interactive media. She has been working as a CEO in the design and marketing field for the past 10 years.
She is CEO and Co-founder of Pioneras a non-profit initiative that has become Colombian’s largest community for #WomenInTech. She has been deeply involved in the Colombian web community and has volunteered in the organization of @JsConfCo, @PyConColombia @RailsGirlsMed #StartupWeekendMedellÃn (@swmed).Marian is a Designer, Educator, & Creator { }
Since founding the organization in 2016, Pioneras has welcomed more than 1.200 women, 60 mentors, to participate in its programs in +7 main cities in Colombia.
